MIA suspects former "Rosneft" subsidiary director of embezzling KBR's mountain recreation centre
Valery Kardanov, ex-General Director of the Fuel Company of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) (a subsidiary of Oil-and-Gas Company "Rosneft") is suspected of embezzling a recreation centre in the nature reserve at foothills of Mount Elbrus. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to the police's information, in the course of the investigation actions, Valery Kardanov fled from law enforcement bodies, and he was put on the international wanted list. The Pyatigorsk City Court of the Stavropol Territory has pronounces the decision about the pre-trial restriction measure to him in absentia in the form of detention in custody.
According to the investigators' information, in late 2012, on the eve of his dismissal, Valery Kardanov issued a fictitious contract of purchase and sale of the company-owned property and by the proxy submitted the contract to the Elbrus Division of the Department of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) to process the transaction.
"Thus, real estate became the property of third parties associates of the suspect," reported the statement published on the MIA's website.
On the revealed facts, the Chief Department of the Russian MIA for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has instituted two criminal cases under Article "Fraud on very large scale".
