Gainutdin not to attend the jubilee of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims
The Russia's Council of Muftis will not take part in celebrations of the 225th anniversary of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (CSAM), which is scheduled in the city of Ufa, because they disagree with a number of actions undertaken by the CSAM; in particular, this decision has to do with the recognition by the Oktiabrsky District Court of Novorossiysk of the book by Elmir Kuliev "Semantic Translation of Holy Koran into Russian" as extremist, said the press service of Ravil Gainutdin, the Chairman of the Council of Muftis.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 20 Ravil Gainutdin complained to the Russian leadership about the decision of the court of Novorossiysk.
Today, Ravil Gainutdin has refused to take part in the above celebrations of the 225th anniversary of the CSAM, having accused its leader of initiating the ban of the Koran translation.
"It is impossible to find a reasonable explanation of the events that happened in recent weeks, when the head of the CSAM Talgat Tadjuddin happened to be among a small group led by Roman Silantiev, a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, who had initiated the ban on the translation of the Holy Karan and other Islamic literature. The trial held in Novorossiysk took place on their initiative," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the statement of the press service of the Mufti Ravil Gainutdin.
