In Dagestan, three local residents and three policemen killed in shooting with suspected militants

According to the updated information, on October 1, during a fire-fight with militants in the Levashi District three local residents were killed. This was told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a source at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.

It should be noted that on October 1, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Levashi District. According to the information of the source at the MIA, during armed clashes with militants, three policemen and three local residents were killed, and three other policemen were wounded.

The source has clarified that all killed civilians "were members of a group of people's militia formed by the local community."

According to the information of the source at the MIA, the CTO regime in the Levashi District has not been terminated yet, and law enforcers continue searching for militants. In the morning of October 2, three suspected militants were killed.
