Dagestani court refuses to release "Anji" fans under recognizance not to leave
Three fans of the "Anji" Football Club (FC), accused of disorderly conduct against Rostov fans, will not be released under recognizance not to leave, the Kaspiysk City Court has ruled today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 2 in Makhachkala, a bus with fans from Rostov-on-Don was attacked and stoned. Three "Rostov" fans were hospitalized. Policemen detained 11 attackers. Eight of them, who are minors, paid the imposed administrative fines and were released; the remaining three were detained. Later, they were charged with hooliganism.
Today, the Kaspiysk City Court has held the first hearing on the case. The judge rejected the advocates' petition to change the measure of freedom restraint. Currently, the above three "Anji" fans are in custody. The next court session will be held on October 18.
About one hundred "Anji" fans came to support their accused colleagues; they expressed outrage that the young people who have just turned 18 are kept in jail for two months. The fans believe that the investigation is controlled by Moscow, which presses the court towards the maximum punishment.
