In Moscow, suspected recruiter into banned Islamist organization detained
A member of the international organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir" recognized in Russia as an extremist organization, was detained in Moscow. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Moscow. According to the MIA, the detainee recruited new members among the believers who attend one of the mosques.
The man, whose detention was reported today by the law enforcement bodies, was identified as Makhmudov, an unemployed citizen of Kyrgyzstan, born in 1963. This was reported by the "ITAR-TASS" with reference to the MIA in Moscow.
According to the investigators' version, on September 27, Makhmudov was recruiting new members for the "Hizb ut-Tahrir" among believers who attended the historic mosque in Moscow. This was reported by the "Interfax" with reference to a source from law enforcement bodies.
The detainee has been already put into custody, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Till present, no comments from the detainee, his family members or the authorities of Kyrgyzstan on the information of the law enforcement bodies are available.
