Chechnya plans to open 25 kindergartens by year end
Till the end of 2013, in the territory of the Chechen Republic, 25 new kindergartens will be opened. According to the information of the Chechen Ministry of Education, at present, in the republic, the line to place a child to kindergarten is about 38,000 children under the age of seven years old.
"While the average Russian level of enrollment of children in pre-school education exceeds 60%, then in our republic, this level is 10% at maximum, and this is a very serious problem," emphasizes a representative of the Ministry of Education.
In his opinion, to solve the problem of the lack of pre-school institutions, in the next several years, Chechnya is to build at least 600 new kindergartens. "However, these purposes need tens of billions of roubles, and the budget of the republic does not possess such funds," the representative of the Ministry of Education has emphasized.
Local residents note that at present, to place a child to kindergarten in Chechnya is practically impossible. "Since this spring, I try to place my three children to a kindergarten; however, so far, I did not succeed. Everywhere, I was told that they have no vacant places. However, they say that the problem can be solved if I pay 15,000-20,000 roubles per one child and then my child will be admitted to any kindergarten; however, I do not have free 45,000 roubles," says Markha Ya., a resident of Grozny.
