Residents of Khasavyurt state absence of water supply; prosecutor's office makes a check
From October 2, the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt has water supply outage, local residents assert. The local prosecutor's office has received no citizens' complaints; however, it making a check under its own initiative, said Gasan Yusupkadiev, the City Prosecutor.
A city resident named Magomed told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that for absence of water townspeople go to their relatives living outside the city; he added that he was "one of the few" who dared to ask about the reason of the outage.
Citizens and local businesses are regularly paying for water, without missing a bill, said the source from Khasavyurt. However, in his opinion, the shadow schemes used by criminals caused damage in the amount of 60 million roubles to the water-supplying facility.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the prosecutor Gasan Yusupkadiev, that the check revealed that the City Enterprise "Gorvodokanal" had a debt of 29 million roubles to the Company "Dagenergoset"; therefore, the latter was forced to reduce the power supplied to water pumps.
The City Prosecutor also urged citizens to more actively participate in the life of the city and report about violations of the law.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2012 a conflict in Makhachkala of gas suppliers with public utility services caused no hot water to thousands of consumers.
