Trial on Politkovskaya's murder case will continue on October 14

The today's session of the Moscow City Court (MCC) that considers the murder of the observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" Anna Politkovskaya was postponed again because of the quarantine at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), where the defendant Sergey Khadjikurbanov is kept.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the court session has been twice postponed because of the above quarantine.

The message received by the court from the SIZO says that the quarantine will be over on October 11; this was announced by Judge Pavel Melekhin.

He appointed the next court session for October 14.

Let us remind you that Anna Politkovskaya, who wrote about Chechnya and Northern Caucasus, was killed on October 7, 2006. The prisoner's dock keeps five persons: a Chechen businessman Lom-Ali Gaitukaev, treated by investigators as the organizer of the crime; his nephews Djabrail, Ibragim and Rustam Makhmudov; and a former police officer Sergey Khadjikurbanov. The defendants refuse to plead guilty.
