Dagestan resumes water supply to houses of Khasavyurt

On Wednesday, in Khasavyurt, where water supply was absent since October 2, it was resumed both to the population and all critical infrastructure facilities, said Nurmagomed Nurmagomedov, an official from the city administration.

Let us remind you that Khasavyurt had water outage since October 2, because the city company "Gorvodokanal" had debts to the power company; and the latter was forced to reduce the power supplied to the pumps, said Gasan Yusupkadiev, the City Public Prosecutor.

"An agreement was reached with bosses of the power company to supply power to the pumping stations; and they did it; now, it is up to the city and its citizens, who must pay all the debts for electricity, gas, water and other utilities till the end of October," the city Mayor Saigidpasha Umakhanov said at an emergency sitting at the Mayoralty.

Despite the Mayoralty's announcement about the restoration of water supply, today in Khasavyurt a non-sanctioned rally was held, where local residents demanded from the authorities to resume the water supply.

The Mayoralty of Khasavyurt has added that Saigidpasha Umakhanov has personally met the protesters.
