In Ingushetia, Karabulak authorities start forced eviction of refugees, residents of TAC "Promzhilbaza" report
In Karabulak, residents of the temporary accommodation centre (TAC) "Promzhilbaza" complain that the city authorities started the forced eviction of residents from the TAC. Starting from the early October, the similar reports also come from other TACs in Ingushetia. This was reported by Timur Akiev, a staff member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Ingushetia.
Starting from October 7, the Karabulak authorities started to evict refugees. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Aza Akhkilgova, a resident of the TAC "Promzhilbaza", a refugee from North Ossetia. According to her story, the number of evicted residents also included persons against whom no court decisions were made.
The only help offered by the city authorities is compensation for renting housing; however, it is inadequate. This was said by a resident of the TAC "Promzhilbaza", who introduced herself as Asay.
According to the information of the Karabulak administration, at the TAC "Promzhilbaza", 223 persons live in 77 families. Their number includes, in particular, internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Chechnya and the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia.
Timur Bokov, Chief of the Department for Media Relations of the administration of the leader of Ingushetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the leader of the republic did not issue such a resolution; however, the official promised to learn more information.
It should be noted here that earlier, refugees from Chechnya and North Ossetia, residing in the republic in the territory of the TAC "Promzhilbaza" had claimed their unsolved housing problems. In February 2013, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of Ingushetia, stated that the authorities rendered assistance to refugees. At the same time, Yunus-Bek Evkurov noted that a lot of people live in Ingushetia illegally.
