Woman from Izberbash states that policemen demanded her to give DNA assay
Zarema Magomedova, a resident of the Dagestani city of Izberbash and an official of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) in the Buynaksk District, asserts that local policemen force her to pass a DNA blood test. However, the GOVD (City Interior Division) of Izberbash denies it, saying that they do not collect assays.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zarema Magomedova had complained to rights defenders about the actions of the GOVD policemen, who on October 1, according to her story, having no summon, forced her to the police station and interrogated about her sister Aisha, with whom Zarema has no contacts for a long time and who is allegedly preparing a terror act.
On October 8, Zarema received a call to her cell phone call from an unknown man, who presented himself as a law enforcer from Izberbash and said that she was summoned to the investigating bodies of Makhachkala for making her DNA blood test.
According to her version, the pressure exerted on her may be due to the fact that last year her husband was convicted for involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs). Zarema fears that the sampled assay could be then used by law enforcers "for fabrication of criminal cases."
A source from the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has confirmed that the investigating bodies are compiling a DNA database, which can help in solving a number of crimes.
