Power engineers give a month to "Gorvodokanal" of Khasavyurt to pay the debts
Local residents report that water supply has been fully restored in the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt and surrounding area. Now, the "Gorvodokanal" of Khasavyurt has a month to pay all the debts to the power company, said Shamsudin Khalitov, the first deputy head of the city administration.
Let us remind you that the water supply was stopped on October 2. The Municipal Enterprise "Gorvodokanal" has debts to power companies; and the latter were forced to reduce powering of water pumps, said the City Prosecutor Gasan Yusupkadiev.
On October 9, a non-sanctioned rally was held in Khasavyurt, after which the city authorities spoke about provocations. A video from the rally was posted on the Youtube, showing how a man was trying to snatch a woman's cell phone and then kicked her.
Later, the authorities managed to identify some of the protesters. According to local officials, they were mostly women, whose debts for water "exceeded 30,000 roubles."
According to Shamsudin Khalitov, the debts of the "Gorvodokanal" to the power company "Rosset" appeared for the fault of Khasavyurt residents. In late September, the "Gorvodokanal" sent a document to Khalitov saying that the total indebtedness of citizens to the company makes 44 million roubles. "80 percent of the population of Khasavyurt fail to pay for water," said Khalitov.
As a result, the water supply was switched off; and the townspeople, while unaware of the reasons, accused the city administration, said the official.
Now, officials are visiting the city households one after the other urging people to pay the debts.
