Baku: NCDF claims 20,000-strong rally against falsification of election results

As reported by the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), the today's rally in Baku of those who disagree with the outcome of the recent presidential election was attended by 20,000 people. According to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, there were some seven or eight thousand participants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the rally was organized by the electoral office of Jamil Gasanli, the former presidential candidate from the NCDF, who has refused to admit the election outcome.

The Azerbaijani presidential election was not free, fair and democratic, says the resolution adopted at the rally, held in Baku. It demands cancellation of the outcome and a new election.

Jamil Gasanli himself, speaking at the rally, said that "the struggle will be continued by peaceful means."

The rally held at the stadium passed without incidents. However, after its end, in Sharifzade Street, near the metro station "Inshaatchilar", a scuffle burst out of policemen with young guys – about ten persons were detained.
