Magomed Medov from Ingushetia states that he was detained based on anonymous letter
Magomed Medov, a resident of the village of Sagopshi, Malgobek District of Ingushetia, who was detained in the morning on October 10, was released from the police in the evening on that very day. According to his story, he was detained because of an anonymous letter, which reported about his alleged links with militants.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on October 10 power agents took Medov away, without explanations, to some unknown place, after conducting a search of his home.
"I immediately told them that I have a rifle that I got from my father; and I have the necessary documents. They found nothing more in the house," said Medov.
When he was brought to the police station, he learnt, in the course of questioning, that someone had written an anonymous denunciation about his alleged links with militants.
Mr Medov has added that he lives "a quiet peaceful life and has no deals with militants." "It happens rather often here: someone does not like somebody and immediately writes an anonymous denunciation – a very convenient way to annoy an opponent," he said.
