In Vladikavkaz, tram drivers go on strike because of unpaid wages

In Vladikavkaz, tram drivers, who have not been paid since July, fail to come to their working places. This was reported by the press office of the city administration.

Officials from the city administration have explained that the tram depot is to receive financial funds from the Republic's Ministry of Labour and Social Development in the form of compensation for transportation of beneficiaries. "Since this May, compensation has accumulated to the amount of 6.3 million roubles, and till present, the tram depot has not received these funds," states the press release issued by the city administration.

The administration of the tram depot hopes that the issue of funding from the Republic's Ministry of Labour and Social Development will be resolved during the current week, the statement reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 30, in Vladikavkaz, staff members of the city clinical hospital went on strike, demanding to pay salary arrears for August. Meanwhile, the hospital staff members managed to get paid only after the intervention of the Prosecutor's Office.
