Volgograd REC treats CPRF's arguments about falsifications at elections as groundless

The claims of members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) about falsifications at the election to the Volgograd City Duma held on September 8 are groundless and shall not be accepted. This was stated by the Regional Election Commission (REC) in response to the complaint filed by the CPRF.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 10, members of the Regional Committee of the CPRF started an indefinite protest action demanding to cancel the results of the elections to the City Duma.

On September 12, Nikolai Parshin, the leader of the Volgograd Branch of the CPRF, sent a letter to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Churov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, Yuri Chaika, General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), demanding to take actions in response to violations committed at the elections to the City Duma.

On October 2, the REC sent Communists a reply signed by Dmitry Kuts, Secretary of the REC.

The reply states that the CPRF's claims cannot be granted, since the arguments set out in the claims, were not actually proved.

"We treat the reply as a run-around. The REC has once again demonstrated its lack of interest in the objective results of the elections," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nikolai Parshin, First Secretary of the Stalingrad Regional Committee of the CPRF.
