FSB: in Moscow Region, immigrants from Central Asia and Caucasus start conflicting
In the Moscow Region, the number of conflicts between different ethnic groups has increased. This was stated by Alexander Polischuk, the head of the department for combating youth extremism of the FSB Department for Moscow and the Moscow Region.
"Unfortunately, during the last six months, we record growth in the number of interethnic conflicts. At present, they occur in the Moscow Region," the "Interfax" quotes Alexander Polischuk as saying at the meeting of the Moscow City Duma in connection with the events in Western Biryulyovo.
Alexander Polischuk has emphasized that conflicts often arise in the areas where migrants live, mostly because of the "controversy between businesses." "A special feature is in the fact that earlier, one of the conflicting parties was represented by peoples of Slavic origin, and recently, various ethnic groups begun to conflict with each other, for example, natives of Central Asia and Caucasus," Alexander Polischuk has noted.
According to the official's information, Moscow has developed a plan to implement the strategy of national policy; however, at present, "people from national communities hardly cooperate on this issue."
