Gulnura Gazieva: attackers on CMR's website hide in Moscow
On the eve of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, unidentified persons tried to hack the website of the Council of Muftis of Russia (CMR), and on the holiday, the website has been completely disabled. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Gulnur Gazieva, Spokesperson of the CMR's press service.
Unidentified hackers have posted on the website the text with a photo, insulting the religious feelings of Muslims. The personal website of Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the CMR, and the website of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque were also attacked.
Officials from the CMR do not associate directly the hacking of its website with the events in Biryulyovo; however, they believe that the attack was aimed to destroy the unity of the Russian society.
According to the information of Gulnura Gazieva, the source of cyber-attack is located in the Moscow Region. "We have identified the source yet in the evening of October 14, when the hacking attempts were started. It is located in Moscow," Gulnura Gazieva has said and added that the information was passed over to the law enforcement bodies.
