Zeinalov was detained through law violation, says Azerbaijani Ambassador

The Embassy of Azerbaijan intends to arrange a meeting of consular officials with Orkhan Zeinalov, who was detained on suspicion of committing a murder, said Polad Bülbüloğlu, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 15 Orkhan Zeinalov, a native of Azerbaijan, was detained in Kolomna on suspicion of killing a Moscow resident Yegor Scherbakov and taken to the Chief Department of the MIA for Moscow. The MIA officials said that in informal conversation with investigators the detainee had admitted his guilt. Then, it was reported that Orkhan Zeinalov explained his actions in the conflict with Yegor Scherbakov by the need of self-defence.

As stated by Polad Bülbüloğlu on air of the TV Channel "Dozhd", on October 17, the Embassy of Azerbaijan will deliver a note to the Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), demanding to admit employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Zeinalov.

"Advocates should be able to see him. Everything should go within the legal field... The inmate's rights have been violated. He is a foreigner; and he should be treated accordingly," the Ambassador of Azerbaijan said in particular, adding that the detention of Zeinalov was made with violations of the law.
