Russia's MFA confirms receipt of Azerbaijani note about Zeinalov's detention

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has received a note from Azerbaijan "with a request for a consular access" in the context of the detention of Orkhan Zeinalov, a suspect of killing Yegor Scherbakov in Biryulyovo, said the MFA's spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.

"Of course, all the norms envisaged by international agreements will be enforced and implemented, including through the consular services," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Lukashevich as saying.

At the same time the spokesman of the Russian MFA said that the Ministry is surprised with the statements of the Azerbaijani Ambassador Polad Bülbüloğlu about fomenting anti-Azerbaijani sentiments in Moscow.

"The statements of the Azerbaijani representative about fomenting anti-Azerbaijani hysteria in Russia have contrived nature and no grounds," said Lukashevich.

This was his comment on the interview of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the TV Channel "Dozhd", where Polad Bülbüloğlu spoke about the events in Biryulyovo and detention of Orkhan Zeinalov on suspicion of a murder.

Today, the Presnya Court of Moscow has decided to arrest Zeinalov until December 10. At today's session the suspect refused to plead guilty of the imputed crime. Zeinalov's defence is going to challenge his arrest.
