Toromonyan family asks Sochi authorities to give them land to build a house
In Sochi, Shushanik Maroyan, a mother of many children, a member of the Toromonyan family that is being evicted from their own house in the interest of Olympic construction, has filed a complaint to the Mayor, the Chief of Department for Family and Children's Affairs, and the City Prosecutor asking to allocate a land plot, not included in the Olympic withdrawal, and to control the observance of the law. Officials believe that the land plot owned by the family members since 1946 should be put up for sale, despite the decree of the Russian President. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Shushanik Maroyan.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the land plot, on which the house owned by the Toromonyan family is located, is withdrawn by the court decision for the construction of the Olympic facility – an alternate road of Kurortny Avenue. Compensations of 1.3 million roubles were transferred to Sberbank accounts of each of the three co-owners of the house. The family members believe that the assessment of their property was conducted with violations.
According to Shushanik Maroyan, the compensation received by her is not enough to purchase an equivalent housing. "This means that my rights and the rights of my minor children are violated and degraded," the woman has states.
At present, Shushanik Maroyan waits for the official response from the city administration. In case of refusal, she intends to challenge it in the court.
