Policeman wounded in Khasavyurt dies in hospital
A policeman, who got wounded last night in a shootout in Khasavyurt, died in the hospital. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.
The shootout occurred when a police patrol tried to check the documents of the driver of the stopped car. The man opened fire and was killed. During the shootout, a policeman and a girl who was passing by were hospitalized.
The policeman has died, and a 16-year-old girl got a gunshot wound to her right thigh.
During the inspection of the car, law enforcers found in it two submachine guns, a pistol, a grenade and several magazines filled with ammunition. This was reported by the website of the Dagestani MIA.
The killed policeman was 40-year-old Captain of the Khasavyurt Police Department of the Russian MIA. This was reported by an official from the Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Dagestan.
According to his story, the investigating authorities have instituted a criminal case under four articles: attempt on life of law enforcer; participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF); intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm; and arms trafficking, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
