In Moscow, trial in case of Anna Politkovskaya's murder postponed again

The Moscow City Court has for the sixth time postponed the consideration in the case of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, an observer of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" because of the ongoing quarantine at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), where the defendant Sergey Khadjikurbanov is kept in custody.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the court sessions were postponed because of the quarantine at the SIZO on September 25, October 1, October 8 and October 14, October 17.

Judge Pavel Melekhin has announced to the participants in the trial that the court session will continue on October 29 at 10:30 a.m. Moscow time.

It should be noted that the victims Ilya Politkovsky and Vera Politkovskaya did not come to the court hearing, and their representatives Anna Stavitskaya and Karina Moskalenko also did not attend the court session.

Besides, the courtroom was attended by numerous relatives of the defendants, including mother, father and two brothers of Makhmudov defendants.
