In Sochi, families with many children intend to unite to defend their rights
On October 20, in Sochi, families with many children gathered in an office building located in Gorky Street to unite and together solve the problem of obtaining land plots. The meeting was attended by more than 50 persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"In Sochi, there are more than 2500 families with average number of three-five or even ten children. Some families have children with disabilities. They survive on their own, as they can; however, these families are to have guaranteed social protection and financial support from the state. Meanwhile, it is virtually impossible to get protection and support because of bureaucracy and corruption in government authorities," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Laura Silagadze, mother of three children, who organized the meeting.
The persons who attended the meeting decided to unite with the social movement "Law and Order" earlier created in Sochi and to meet next week with specific proposals to change the situation.
The main topic of discussion was the problem to get land plots from the city administration as support to families with many children. Besides, the financial and household problems still remain acute: there are no places in kindergartens, no decent housing, and no jobs. This was stated by Pavel Bozhkov, a father of many children.
Officials from the city administration and the Sochi Assembly have explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that after the authorities receive the formal request of large families with their offers, they will be considered and answered within the statutory period of one month.
