Rostov-on-Don hosts picket against SFU's cooperation with Moscow School of Civil Education
On Tuesday, near the main building of the Southern Federal University (SFU) of Rostov-on-Don, a picket was held. The reason for holding the picket was the visit to the SFU of the Moscow School of Political Studies to deliver lectures.
The purpose of the action is to draw attention of the university administration to the problem of careful selection of subcontractors for international educational programmes. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Alexander Proselkov, an organizer of the picket, the leader of the Southern Coordination Centre of International Eurasian Movement.
The reason for the picket was the visit to the city of lecturers from the Moscow School of Civil Education to deliver lectures and seminars at the SFU. "Six months ago, this organization was called the Moscow School of Political Studies, and the General Prosecutor's Office has officially recognized it as an agent of foreign influence and closed it," said Alexander Proselkov. And he has continued: "Six months later, they have changed their name and started to work again with the same leaders and educational programmes."
According to the organizers of the picket, the participants of the protest action do not oppose international cooperation in science. "However, when it comes to the humanitarian aspect and ideological subversive work, funded entirely by the money from the United States and European countries, we speak 'contra'," Alexander Proselkov has stated.
The Southern Federal University (SFU) operates in accordance with the law, and the position of the picketers is not acceptable for the university. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Yakov Aslanov, Chairman of the student council of the SFU. According to him, at present, the SFU prepares objective information about the upcoming conference.
