Muslims of Volgograd complain about manifestations of aggression against them after the terror act
As reported by Anton Kornaukhov, the spokesman of the Chief Department of the Russia's MIA for the Volgograd Region, a young man is being searched on suspicion of setting the worship house "Mahalla 1350" on fire. The incident resulted in no injuries.
The above two-storey private house in the Kirov District of Volgograd belongs to Ruslan Yakubov, the head of the Muslim religious organization "Mahalla 1350", Mr Kornaukhov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
In the opinion of Abdulla Khadji, the chairman of the Board of the Union of Muslims of the Volgograd Region, the above incident had to do with the recently committed terror act.
"Many complaints have arrived in the Union of Muslims in the Volgograd Region. Several times the Muslim women in headscarves, who tried to use fixed-route taxis, were driven out by passengers. One woman was even beaten and thrown out of the taxi in the Tsentralny District. People are in a panic; and it'll take time to calm down," Abdulla Khadji told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his version, the religious organization "Mahalla 1350" has "some incomprehensible ideology"; and "Salafi Muslims gather there."
In his turn, Sultan Abubakarov, the chairman of the Union of Muslims of the Volgograd Region, has made a statement in the context of the terror act committed in the Krasnoarmeisky District of Volgograd, in which he has treated the event as a "provocative act aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region and in the country as a whole."
