Tskhinvali residents are still without water, as some spare parts need to be ordered from Russia
Residents of the micro-district "Moskovskiy", located in the northern outskirt of Tskhinvali, are with no water supply for the second day, since the repair team has to order the spare parts for the non-standard main water pipe from Russia, said the Mayor of Tskhinvali Alan Alborov.
He explained in his talk with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent Alborov explained that eliminating failures in the area is not an easy task for repairmen, because the main pipe that supplies water to residents is "a thin-wall and non-standard one"; therefore, they have to order spare parts from Russia.
The Mayor promised that the water supply would be restored at night on October 23.
According to residents of the micro-district, for the last two days they were given water only once – for one hour; still they managed to accumulate some stock; however, mostly those who live in cottages, while those who live in apartment buildings have no room to install additional tanks.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the problems with the main Tskhinvali water supply pipe. On August 31, the capital of South Ossetia had a drinking water outage due to the negligence of builders, who damaged with an excavator scoop the pipe that supplied the "Moskovskiy" and BAM micro-districts.
