In Sochi, Kudepsta residents again block exit of machinery from industrial base

Around 100 Kudepsta residents came to the industrial base and blocked the exit of heavy machinery in protest against industrial activities in the resort area, Igor Vasiliev, the chairman of the local self-government unit (known as TOS) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 17 residents of Kudepsta held the same protest, demanding from the authorities to stop the industrial activities that cause irreparable damage to the ecology of the resort city of Kudepsta.

Mr Vasiliev has explained that activists decided to repeat the action, since the previous one – on October 17 – had no effect. He added that "people demand the presence in the venue of the base lessee, sub-contractors and the local officials, who had issued the permits on using the resort area for industrial purposes."
