Two soldiers die under wheels of military vehicles at firing range in Dagestan
During the military exercises at a firing range in Dagestan, two soldiers were crushed to death by their fellow soldiers who drove combat vehicles, the Chief Military Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported.
The incident occurred in the evening on October 17 during training exercise on driving military vehicles. The Privates Rodion Stetsenko and Alexei Gorzu were appointed as accounting persons at the control site named "track bridge". After the exercises, they were found dead. According to preliminary data, they died from injuries sustained as a result of tripping-over by military track vehicles.
The soldiers could fall asleep and did not hear the approach of the vehicles, the "Interfax" reports referring to a source from among local law enforcers.
Now, Captain Rikhterman, the commander of the 7th infantry company of Military Unit No. 63354 is accused under Part 3, Article 293, of the Criminal Code (negligence, resulting in the death of two or more persons).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in August two soldiers were killed by a blast of an unknown explosive device in the Ashuluk firing range, located in the Astrakhan Region.
Let us note here that in 2011 the Ashuluk firing range saw a whole series of soldiers' deaths. According to the estimates made by the "Caucasian Knot", within 44 days – from August 23 to October 5, 2011, – 12 soldiers were lost there.
