Makhachkala residents report several detentions under CTO, including young woman in hijab
In the course of the actions undertaken within the counterterrorist operation (CTO), introduced in the Kirov District of Makhachkala on October 23, at least five persons were detained, including a young woman wearing a hijab, local residents report. According to their story, policemen did not hide the fact that their actions were related to the recent terror act committed in Volgograd.
According to a source from the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division), all the detainees are released after checking documents, while house-by-house inspections are conducted in the territory of Semender, Uchkhoz and dwelling settlements Novy and Separatorny.
Let us remind you that the Kirov District of Makhachkala is under the CTO regime since October 21. Earlier, villagers of Semender reported that power agents had blocked roads and streets and carried out targeted checks. Some residents of Makhachkala stated rude handling during searches of their houses.
Power agents agree that the CTO regime has to do with the recent terror act committed in Volgograd supposedly by militants from the "Makhachkala" grouping.
The information about a young woman in a black hijab brought to the ROVD was confirmed by Aisha Selimkhanova, an activist of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).
The above source from the Kirov ROVD has confirmed that on October 23 several persons were detained for identification, but did not specify the number of detainees and whether there was a young woman among them.
