Iskhak: 150 Adygs perished in warfare in Syria

During the ongoing military conflict in Syria, 150 Adygs (Circassians) were killed and 4800 more were wounded. These data are announced at the sitting of the International Circassian Association (ICA) by Akram Iskhak, the Chairman of the Circassian Charity Society of Syria.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that during the sitting held at the Sanatorium "Chaika" a proposal was made to hold the Global Adyg Congress next year in Moscow.

After discussing this proposal, Khauti Sokhrokov, the President of the ICA, suggested to hold the congress in the autumn of 2014. He told about this year's activities of the ICA, focusing on the issue of helping compatriots in Syria.

Akram Iskhak said that Turkish Adygs are rendering good help to refugee Circassians from Syria.

According to his story, Adygs had lived in six regions of Syria. At present, not a single Adyg is left in some Circassian villages. Their houses are destroyed, and their property is lost, said Iskhak.
