Sochi court finds building of well-room in park zone legitimate
Vladimir Efanov, a judge of the Tsentralny District Court of Sochi, has dismissed the complaint lodged by the Sochi Public Civil Movement (SPCM) "Law and Order" against the actions of the city Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, who had sanctioned the building of a water well-room in the park area.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 18 in Sochi protesters demanded from Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov "to stop arbitrariness" and prohibit the construction of a pump-room in the Primorsky Park opposite the Winter Theatre.
"The construction of the pump-room is conducted with violations of city-planning rules. In this regard, the city Mayor was prescribed to eliminate the violations," Alexander Shmoilov, the First Deputy Public Prosecutor of Sochi, said on September 2. However, activists believe that the Prosecutor's Office should have applied to the court in defence of an unidentified circle of persons and compel the Mayor to stop violating the Construction Code and bring the park to its original status.
Members of the above SPCM "Law and Order", led by Roman Shikarev, decided to go to court themselves and stop the construction in the green area of the Primorsky Park; however, Judge Vladimir Efanov dismissed their claims.
Mr Shikarev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his movement was going to file a complaint against the judge's decision.
Let us remind you that on June 23 a picket was held in the Primorsky Park against the construction of well-room of mineral water, initiated in the green area.
