Large consignment of ammunition detected in Grozny
A batch of artillery and anti-aircraft shells has been found by the police in the Oktiabrsky District of the Chechen capital. Presumably, the ammunition was left in Grozny during the time of active warfare in late 1990s-early 2000s.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by local law enforcers that the ammunition was brought out of the city for destruction by blowing up.
The police officer said that all the shells were in the state of deep rust and had "no signs of masking."
Let us note here that on the previous day, in the Grozny District of the republic, a local resident delivered to the police a batch of TNT (trotyl) blocks weighing over ten kilos. The local said, according to the statement of the local MIA, that he had found them back in 2006 in the territory of the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 11, in the foothill Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya, a large cache of weapons and ammunition was found.
