75-year-old Sochi resident complains to Prosecutor's Office about police harassment
Lydia Lepsveridze, a citizen of Russia, who has registration and who has been living in Sochi for more than 20 years, complains of policemen, who demand that she should leave the city. The woman has filed the complaint against the policemen to the Prosecutor's Office.
Let us remind you that on October 12, in Sochi, the policemen detained 75-year-old Lydia Lepsveridze, when the woman held a picket near the summer residence of the President of the Russian Federation "Bocharov Ruchei" (Bocharov Stream). By picketing, the woman tried to draw the authorities' attention to the unlawful, in her opinion, court decision to deprive her of housing under the claim filed by relatives of her deceased husband.
The woman has complained that on October 13, the policemen came to her house and demanded to sign the protocol of the administrative offence allegedly committed by her. Believing that she is being harassed by the policemen, Lydia Lepsveridze has sent an appeal to Vladimir Putin asking to protect her "from the tyranny and corruption in Sochi courts and law enforcement bodies."
"I have not received any answer to my appeal to Putin; however, the police harassment has intensified," the woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. She has added that the policemen have begun to threaten her with deportation from the Russian Federation.
Lydia Lepsveridze has reported that in connection with the ongoing situation, she personally met and filed a complaint to Mark Bolshedvorsky, City Prosecutor.
