100 days till Sochi Olympics-2014 marked with "Olympic lessons"
On October 20, Sochi schools marked the 100 days remaining till the start of the Games-2014 with "Olympic lessons". Some participating pupils expressed their opinion that Sochi is more appropriate for summer, not winter Olympics.
"It's a bit strange and unusual that the Winter Olympics are held in Sochi. I think summer games will be better and more logical," Sofia Portudnaya, an 11th form pupil, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"We go in for dancing. Of course, it would be interesting to try some figure skating; however, the ice rink that existed in the stadium of School No. 8 was closed. We have no place in Sochi even to try some winter sport," said her classmate Darya Lozneva.
"We know that ice rinks have been built in the Imereti Lowland to be later used for practicing winter sports. But how can you get there with all our traffic jams? It's just unrealistic for the people living in the Lazarevskoe, Tsentralny or Khosta Districts to get to Adler to go in for winter sports there," Natalia Shebina, a pupil of the same class, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
