Advocates in the trial of terror act in Domodedovo ask not to appoint life sentence to the defendant
The defence of Islam Yandiev, accused of committing the terror act at the Moscow Domodedovo Airport in the winter of 2011, has asked the court not to sentence him to life imprisonment, because he had committed his crime under the influence of "the people involved in Wahhabism."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the charges of committing the above terror act were presented to Islam and Ilez Yandiev brothers, Akhmed Evloev and Bashir Khamkhoev – they all are residents of Ingushetia and refuse to plead guilty.
"I ask the court to appoint any punishment to Yandiev, other than life imprisonment," said his advocate, noting that Yandiev had committed the crime under "the influence of the people supporting Wahhabism." "Instructors hammered all this into his brain; they made him a zombie, sent to Moscow, where Islam could not behave otherwise, as all actions were controlled by an instructor," said the advocate as quoted by the "Interfax".
Let us remind you that, according to investigators, Islam Yandiev and his brother Ilez met the suicide bomber Magomed Evloev in Moscow and brought him to the airport on the day of the terror act.
The state prosecution has asked to sentence the defendants to the terms from 10 years to life imprisonment.
