Tenants of house in Krasnodar block street in protest against electricity outage
Tonight, residents of some houses in Korenovskaya Street in Krasnodar have tried, for some time, to block one of the major city streets in protest against the absence of electricity in one of the houses for two days. Due to the protest, a traffic jam was formed towards the exit from the city.
After a meeting with the local administration and law enforcers, the protesters unblocked the way, but refused to disperse until their problem is solved.
No. 73 in Korenovskaya Street has problems with power supply, because the management company failed to set up contract relations with the power supplier – the OJSC "Kubanenergo", a source from the district administration told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The bureaucrats from the Krasnodar Mayoralty, who arrived to the place, have promised to find ways to solve the problem today.
"The protesters have filed an application with the police; and local authorities are promptly dealing with the situation," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Krasnodar Department of the Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
