Power of bomb exploded in Makhachkala was 4 kg of TNT equivalent
The capacity of one of the bombs detonated on October 30 in the centre of Makhachkala was 4 kilograms of TNT (trotyl) equivalent. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on October 30, at 5:00 p.m., two explosions occurred in Makhachkala. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), two bombs exploded at two shops in the city centre. According to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), 18 persons were wounded, and one of them died.
"Criminals planted two explosive devices simultaneously, which were two black packages, wrapped in scotch tape, and fled. Two explosions occurred at 4:42 and 4:46 p.m.," the website of the MIA of Dagestan reports.
The capacity of one of the bombs was about 4 kilograms of TNT equivalent, and the capacity of the second improvised explosive device (IED) is to be identified.
Officials from the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of the Russian Federation have announced that the Ministry is ready to send aircraft to Makhachkala to evacuate victims of the explosions to Moscow for medical treatment.
