Dagestan: Magomed Gadjiev, ex-head of Kizilyurt District, assassinated

In the morning of October 31, in the village of Komsomolskoe, Magomed Gadjiev, the former head of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, was shot dead by unidentified persons in his current workplace. His bodyguard was wounded, investigators report.

Magomed Gadjiev was the head of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) 'Erkenli'; unidentified killers came into his study and shot him dead in the workplace. Gadjiev died on the spot from his wounds. An occasional eyewitness of the crime was also wounded: he was shot in his leg," one of local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, about a month ago a moulage of an explosive device was found under Magomed Gadjiev's car.

The Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has confirmed the information about the murder of Magomed Gadjiev. A source from the ID told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Gadjiev's bodyguard was wounded during the attack.

Currently, an investigating team is studying the venue, trying to find out the circumstances of the incident.
