In Stavropol Territory, local resident detained for possessing "shahid belt"
A powerful improvised explosive device (IED) in the form of a "shahid belt" was found in an abandoned private household on the outskirts of one of the villages of the Stavropol Territory. This was reported today by a source from the law enforcement bodies.
The source has stated that, according to the preliminary information, the capacity of the bomb was about 2 kg of TNT equivalent, and it was equipped with an electric detonator.
Law enforcers found a dangerous discovery during the search operations, and its suspected owner, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, was detained.
The detainee has repeatedly come to the attention of law enforcers, who do not rule out that the bomb was prepared for a terror act, the "Interfax" reports. The information agency notes that it does not yet have an official confirmation of the above information.
