48 participants of "Russian March" detained in Volgograd
During the "Russian March" held in Volgograd, two persons were detained and then released by the police. After the march, other 48 persons were detained, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the today's action was sanctioned by the authorities and that the notification specified 1000 participants. The action was organized by the ethno-political association "Russians" and the People's Militia named after Minin and Pozharsky. The action was joined by the regional office of The Other Russia and other organizations.
The marchers, many of whom were young people, were chanting: "Volgograd is a Russian city," and "Russia is for Russians!"
"Our goal as a party at the 'Russian March' is to make sure that the masses of people march not with xenophobic slogans, but appeal directly to the power with quite normal complaints. We should not demand eviction of migrants or introduction of visa regime with the countries of Central Asia, since the problem is not a migration the problem is a corrupted regime that encourages illegal immigration. Therefore, we should seek to change the power and not destroy markets in Biryulyovo. Besides, the terror act committed in Volgograd influenced the decision of The Other Russia to join the march: the death toll of the terror act included Kirill Litvinenko, our friend and fellow party member from 2010. However, we strongly emphasize that we do not treat Muslims as the main culprits. We blame authorities," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Leonid Makhinya, a member of The Other Russia.
