Former head of "IDGC of Russia's Centre and Northern Caucasus" suspected of abuse of power for 880 million roubles

Evgeny Makarov, the former head of the interregional distribution grid company (IDGC) of Russia's Centre and Northern Caucasus, is suspected of abuse of power with the damage amounting to more than 880 million roubles. This was reported by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). According to the FSB, he is abroad and is not going to come back.

The criminal case for abuse of power was instituted against Evgeny Makarov and Stanislav Milkin, Director of the "Corporate Service Systems" ("KorSsis").

According to the investigators' version, in 2005, Evgeny Makarov contributed to the appointment of Stanislav Milkin and other persons to the leadership positions in the company "KorSsis" controlled by him and located in Belgorod. After that, Evgeny Makarov and Stanislav Milkin created the conditions, under which the IDGC "could not meet its obligations to power consumers without entering economically disadvantageous agreements with the "KorSsis", the ICRF's website reports.

Stanislav Milkin has been interrogated, and the charge will be filed against him in the nearest future. The investigators have not yet succeeded in interrogating Evgeny Makarov, since he is abroad at present and does not intend to return to Russia. This was reported by the newspaper "Kommersant" with reference to a source close to the investigators.
