"Kommersant": Deputy Prime Minister Kozak asks to speed up delivery of Olympic facilities in Sochi
Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister, has issued the order to agree on a plan to reduce the period for commissioning of several Olympic facilities at once the alternate road of Kurortny Avenue and the Olympic Village, which are being developed by the companies of the "Basic Element". This was reported by the "Kommersant" with reference to a source at the Ministry of Regional Development.
According to the copy of the meeting's minutes, the managers of the "Basic Element" have been warned "about the personal responsibility (including the criminal one) for any possible detriment of the state and public interests caused by the company's failure to fulfil obligations for the construction of Olympic facilities."
Let us remind you that on September 24, in Sochi, the Coordination Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) started its work. Summarizing the results of their tenth and final visit, the IOC officials will give a final assessment of the readiness of Sochi for the Winter Olympic Games. Earlier, the IOC officials have repeatedly stated that the construction of facilities and infrastructure is at a point that allows ensuring their readiness for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in due time.
