Prosecutor's Office claims violations committed in investigation into rape of minor in Kabardino-Balkaria
The Prosecutor's Office has checked the investigation into the case of rape of a minor in Kabardino-Balkaria and found a number of violations, including delays in appointments of examinations. This was reported by Magomed Miziev, Chief of the Department for supervision of criminal investigations in the bodies of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
Let us remind you that on April 30, a 17-year-old resident of the village of Dalnee was raped by five men. Four suspects were detained, including one minor, and the other men were 18-19 years old at the time of arrest.
According to Magomed Miziev, the check was caused by the article published by the "Caucasian Knot" and titled "In Kabardino-Balkaria, victim in case of rape complains about slow investigation", in which the victim reported on delay in the investigation and on the fact that she was being followed by unidentified persons.
The investigator has appointed to conduct the necessary examinations only after two months had passed, although he was to do that within the first ten days after the criminal case had been instituted, Magomed Miziev has clarified.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the investigating bodies, who preferred to remain anonymous, that if the genetic, psychological and psychiatric examinations are available in the nearest future, the investigator will be able to send the case to the court already in December.
