Employer fails to pay out promised wage debts, builders of Sochi Olympic facilities assert
The Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Okhotsk Construction Company" fails to pay the workers from Tajikistan the remainder of the debt on their wages for the construction of the Olympic housing in Sochi, despite its promise to pay the arrears till November 6. This was stated by Sobirzhon Yunusov, the foreman of the workers.
Let us remind you that in late August, 53 workers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Russia appealed to the Sochi branch of the network "Migration and Law" with a complaint about non-payment of their wages for three months by the LLC "Okhotsk Construction Company". The general contractor of the facility is the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "RZhDstroy", and the performer is the State Corporation "Olimpstroy". In mid-October, the workers were paid the first amount of debt of 2.7 million roubles, then another amount of 1 million roubles.
The "Caucasian Knot" was told by Sobirzhon Yunusov, the foreman of the workers, that on November 6, during his visit to the employer's office, he was told that the General Director was not at the place. Sobirzhon Yunusov has added that he had been promised by the Deputy General Director that the debt will be repaid on November 9.
More than 15 persons from the same team of workers wait for payment of the remainder of the debt for the construction of housing for the volunteers of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in the village of Vesyoloe of the Adler District.
Sobirzhon Yunusov has reported that he intends to seek the final payment of the entire amount of the debt for his team and that he will not leave Sochi till the debt is paid.
