In North Ossetia, over 2000 rally on anniversary of October Revolution
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that two rallies, organized in Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia, by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and the "Communists of Russia" on the anniversary of the 1917 October Revolution, brought together more than two thousand people.
On November 7, the first rally was held by "Communists of Russia"; about 50 people marched along Mira Avenue with posters: "Long live the Great October Socialist Revolution!" and "Factories – to workers, land – to peasants!"
"This day symbolizes continuation of struggle for workers' rights. Our goal is to restore socialism and bring the country back to the socialist way of development, since the current one has shown its hopelessness," said Victor Magkeev, the first secretary of the North-Ossetian branch of the "Communists of Russia".
The participants adopted a resolution condemning the decision of the republic's parliament to abolish direct election of the leader of North Ossetia.
On the same day another rally was held by the CPRF. According to the police, the event brought together more than two thousand people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 7 communists held celebratory rallies also in Volgograd, Astrakhan, Sochi and Dagestan. In Karachay-Cherkessia, the anniversary of the October Revolution was marked by the CPRF by means of a motor rally.
