Participants of Film Festival "Kinotavrik" in Sochi state the need to repeatedly put films about children-invalids into programme
On November 9, Sochi closed the 13th International Children's Festival of Arts and Sports "Kinotavrik". The festival participants have noted that the contest of films about children with disabilities failed to arouse great interest of the audience; however, they find it necessary to put this contest on the next year's programme.
The festival was held on November 2-9 with participation of about 500 children aged 3-17 from regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
Mark Rudinstein, the author of the idea of "Kinotavrik", has noted the importance of the contest "Film Debut", held among movies and animations filmed by children and children's studios; however, to date, in his opinion, the results of the contest could hardly be treated as essential.
For the first time, the festival held a contest "At Different Angle" for the best short film about the life of gifted children with disabilities, where 10 films were screened. Most of them were filmed by children. The contest was positively perceived by the audience, but by the end of the show no more than 30 spectators remained in the hall, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to Mark Rudinstein, it is reasonable to make a separate film festival for children with disabilities.
The Grand Prix in the contest of feature films went to the Russian film about a young Sambo wrestler "Victory by Fall", while the "Ku! Kin-Dza-Dza" by Georgy Daneliya and Tatiana Ilyina was the best animated film.
