Muhammad Rakhimov: women's madrasa in Stavropol did nothing illegal
The women's madrasa in Stavropol, which has attracted attention of the FSB, had never did anything illegal, said Muhammad Rakhimov, the Mufti of the Stavropol Territory and the head of the regional Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 1 the Stavropol Territorial Department of Russia's Federal Security Bureau (FSB) reported that a secret women's madrasa was found in the region, the organizers of which promoted extremism among female students. "A number of women trained at the 'madrasa' have already stepped toward radicals. Some of them disappeared after moving to Dagestan, others went with their husbands to fight for the freedom of Muslims in the Middle East, where their traces are also lost," the website of the FSB writes.
According to Muhammad Rakhimov, the madrasa in question was a branch of the Dagestani Islamic University, which is an official organization. "There is no training of terrorists or how to commit terror acts there," the SAM head has stressed. According to his version, the branch was engaged in enlightenment activities and stood on the positions of traditional Islam, the "Novaya Gazeta" writes.
Let us remind you that this March the administration of Stavropol demanded to demolish the building under construction, which looked like a mosque. On March 25, the court ruled to arrest the facility.
