Chechen authorities provide assistance to about 250 families of killed policemen and militaries
This year, in Chechnya, 242 families of law enforcers and military personnel killed in the line of duty received one-time payments from the authorities in the total amount of more than 85 million roubles. Funds were allocated for the improvement of living conditions of the families left without breadwinners.
Officials from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Development of Chechnya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that one-time payments are allocated in the first place to "extremely needy families", who live in rural areas in harsh conditions, and for families with 2-4 minor children left without breadwinners.
Some local residents say that, despite they submitted the documents to the Ministry of Labour in due time, one-time payments have not been allocated to them.
Officials from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) note that during the counterterrorist operation (CTO), about 1500 power agents were killed in Chechnya.
Earlier, officials from the Chechen Ministry of Labour have reported that similar assistance was also provided to families of World War II veterans in need of improvement of their housing conditions. Within the period from January to August 2013, the amount of 800,000 roubles was allocated to each of 14 families of veterans of World War II.
