Residents of Dagestan report detentions in Makhachkala suburb
Local residents report on detentions in Semender, the Makhachkala suburban village. In the village, law enforcers were checking the operational information to search for members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and their accomplices. This was reported by officials from the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division).
Starting from the morning of November 9, power agents began to conduct checks. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a resident of the village of Semender of the Kirov District of Makhachkala.
"They visited not every yard (the village is primarily consists of private houses), but they selected some yards, following some lists. I think they were checking Salafis again. In total, as far as I know, at least 5 persons were detained," Aishat Omarova has stated.
Another local woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that all detainees and, according to her, there were also five of them four men and a young woman in a hijab, were brought to the Kirov ROVD for check of their documents.
"The villagers report that, prior to being brought to the Kirov ROVD, the detainees were subjected to beatings," the woman from the village has reported.
